What Makes Up Me
From an early stage in my life my parents knew that one day I would enter the teaching profession yet I was a bit skeptical. But like always they were right. Without knowing it I have been teaching in some way or another for as long as I can remember. I taught my brother how to play with Barbie’s, taught my cousins how to swim and taught countless children the rules of various games at after school care. During school I had the opportunity to coach an under 9s boys soccer team and I co-directed a high school play. Teaching has been apart of me from an early age.
In 2011 I stepped out of my comfort zone and headed off to the United States to work for a summer at a traditional American summer camp. There I lived in a cabin with 2 other co counselors and 10 eleven-year-old girls. Needless to say this experience was very challenging but incredibly rewarding. Besides teaching the girls an array of art and craft, drama and sporting activities, we were teaching them so much more such as coping homesickness, cooperating with your room mates and facing personal challenges together. This experience reaffirmed by passion for teaching and made even more certain that there is no other career for me.
As well as these experience it is my drive for better education for all that wakes me up in the morning. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have a fantastic teacher and to develop through the educational process. I wish for equality in education as no matter where you are every child deserves a first class education. I am excited to move forward in my teaching career and to be a part of a profession i am so passionate about.I hope to put into practice my learning and teaching philosophies and no matter where i teach i know i will teach to the best of my ability and hope to pass on my passion for teaching to others.
